Octopus

Hello avid followers (all 2 of you),
This week I have been mostly playing around on Illustrator.  I designed a logo for my friend's beautician website and helped her pick out a colour scheme -

 A cute Octopus

It may not look much but this took my 2 days! haha.  I am getting used to all the Illustrator tools as it is a world apart from the Photoshop techniques I am used to.  I found an online tutorial on vector tuts+

I'll keep working on it and hopefully I'll get better and can do something more productive than an octopus!  Anyone need a logo for anything and let me know - I like a project!

Sooo my eyes are going square from staring at a computer screen all day!  Good news, I'll be going to london this weekend for my first real outing since the op... how exciting! A friend's 1920's themed bday party.  Can't wait!

tea party!

It was my birthday last weekend and I decided to revert to childhood and have an afternoon tea party.
Carrot cake, coffee cake, tea, cheese & pineapple sticks, great company etc etc.  Pass the parcel too! Delights all round. 
Had the nannnies round for morning coffee on the Sunday.  I am a lucky one.  Here are some snaps from the day.  Very British indeeeed.  :)  A crossword even made an appearance.

Designing fun

From my bed ( recent surgery = bed boredom)  I have been designing lots and playing around with photoshop:

Here my creations:

 

This I will use for my Eye Heart Photos banner.  I used a photo which I took last year of a heart graf in a squat toilet in Bangkok.  Nice.  The cartoon is taken from an old Leica add.  (I WANT a leica...  need to save for that m3 though)  I layered on another photo of a wall in a toilet in singapore.  It appears I like toilet decor....

 

I clearly have too much time on my hands... this is actually an old photoshop doodle but I was playing around with it again.  It has no purpose other than to make me happy.  

I have currently been enjoying:

• Tavi's fashion blog (the new girl in town) - this girl is incredible.  And 13.  
• Utorrent downloading
• Moleskine notebooks (thanks Meagan)
• Reading about NLP
• The excitement of 2010.  Maybe just me.

Samples of my work...

Hi again,
As I should have started this blog a long time ago, I will fill you in on some work I did last year.  Some samples of my favourite docu style snaps...

These photos were taken in Thailand, mainly Bangkok in 2009.  Actually, I lie,  the monk was taken in Luang Prabang in Laos.   And FYI, he's trying to get signal on his phone.... not deep in prayer.  Probably texting the girlfriend.  love it. 

Currently bedridden from an operation (goodbye ovarian cyst)  I have lots of free time, hence blogging.
Right now I am working on a design for my friend Mel who wants to start a cute blog too for healthy eating with seasonal recipies etc. I'll upload some pictures when I'm done...

My name is Joanne, known as Jo Bean to my friends. I am a photographer and a doodler. I have a website:

Which shows my cv and some of my recent work. I spent most of 2008 traveling Asia taking pretty photos. Then relocated to Bangkok in 2009 for a year. I LOVED IT! The people, the food, the lifestyle everything is amazing.
I am now back in England (Bucks) but think I'll be staying around and moving to London for work here. JOYS!

I wanted to make this blog as I like lots of things and would enjoy writing about them.
These things include:
